BEFORE you send that “cute” remark, that scathing criticism or that “private” thought via e-mail, stop and consider what you are really saying. 

Even Tina, the tech writer in the Dilbert comic strip by Scott Adams, says: “One should never compose e-mail while one is snarling.” 

How you feel affects what you say, of course, but with e-mail, there is an even greater danger than offending someone. 

As an e-mail writer, you should think about what would happen if other people had your e-mail records — because they may be able to retrieve them. 

While e-mail is a simple and fantastic way to keep in touch with friends and business associates, it also has some security and legal problems attached to it.

In an effort to remove potential security problems with e-mail, Amazon.com initiated a Sweep And Keep programme. Staff were encouraged to purge e-mail messages that need not be kept for legal records. As a reward for deleting e-mail messages quickly, the employees were treated to free lattes.

A fundamental quality of resourceful people is the innate ability to leverage on their strengths and overcome their weaknesses.

The ability to tap on the capabilities of others is also important. This means outsourcing what you cannot do well yourself to others to maximise your core skills.

3 HONE YOUR SKILLS
Improve on your organisational skills by first being clear about the real nature of your job and what the organisation expects of you.

To be proactive, you need to use your initiative to find out the best way to complete tasks and achieve the results your bosses expect.

By meeting organisational goals, you also develop your own career goals as the management begins to take notice of your skills and give you more responsibilities.

4 BE OBJECTIVE
The key to thriving in the organisation is having the right attitude towards your work. Learn to see things objectively and positively. Analyse your personality and natural ability — your aptitude — and strive to develop these to their fullest potential.

Having the right attitude also means that you see failure as an opportunity to find new ways to solve the problems that confront you.

22 Pusat JobsMalaysia Diwujudkan Di Seluruh Negara

Kerajaan akan menubuhkan 22 pusat mencari pekerjaan atau “Jobsmalaysia Center” di seluruh negara bagi membantu Jabatan Tenaga Kerja (JTK) menyediakan khidmat mencari pekerjaan dan tenaga kerja dalam sektor awam dan swasta.

Timbalan Menteri Sumber Manusia, Datuk Maznah Mazlan, berkata pusat berkenaan yang akan beroperasi pada September ini membabitkan peruntukan pembiayaan RM70 juta menerusi Pakej Rancangan Ekonomi Kedua yang diumumkan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak baru-baru ini.

Beliau berkata, setiap negeri akan mempunyai sekurang-kurang satu pusat seumpama itu yang bakal menampung keperluan pengguna bagi membantu dan melicinkan peranan yang dimainkan oleh JTK dalam usaha mencari peluang pekerjaan kepada penganggur.

“Penubuhan pusat ini yang ditumpukan di tempat awam dimulakan bulan ini, dan dijangka dapat memulakan operasi sepenuhnya pada September depan,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas merasmikan Program Penempatan Pekerjaan (3P) 2009, peringkat negeri di Pusat Dagangan Kelantan, di sini hari ini.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operations and support of information security infrastructure for Data Centers and Remote Sites.

- Assist in the compliance & enforcement of Sunway IT Security Policies, Standards, Codes and Procedures for all IT Systems, Networks and Data Centers to meet its objectives in ensuring Confidentiality, Integrity and Non-repudiation of business data and information.

- Reviews security logging, generates violation reports and report to management as and when appropriate.

- Collaborates with other technical infrastructure team members for daily operations and support of IT Systems, Networks and Security Devices.
